Mods, sorry, I don't know where this goes, and im a bit kranky and cant focus on shit to figure it out.
They just put me on perscription Zoloft(selective seratonin reuptake inhibitor). I haven't toked the heavenly herb in a few weeks; and will not be off my tolerance break for 2 more weeks. My question is: will taking zoloft affect cannabis usage? Like it won't be too intense, will it? I'm just not very experienced at using cannabis in combination with perscriptions; and they just put me on antidepressants and they are making me feel kinda weird. I would just hate to lose interest in the herb.
any help? god this shit makes me weird. thanks

When I was taking it, Zoloft made smoking a little mellower - but the effect of the weed is what I felt the most. All or most of the initial side affects of Zoloft usually decline after a month or so of starting it.

I think, with any prescription, it's going to affect your heart the most. Find out what Zoloft does to your heart.
Whoa! Anti-depressants. You'll save on your weed, I'm sure.

i'm on cymbalta which is an antidepressant, which i take for generalized anxiety disorder and panic disorder....and when i spoke to a pharmacist confidentially, i asked if smoking weed would have adverse effects with my medicine, because i wouldn't want it to interfere with the great progress i've had thus far. So he told me that as a doctor of pharmacy....his legal answer in yes, but in actuality it will not interfere with it. i also was prescribed xanax for onset panic attacks, which i don't like using, mainly because i've heard stories of people becoming addicted to them, so instead i would smoke a little, and it would relax me just like xanax would. but actually getting "high" wasn't too enjoyable....it made my anxiety worse, but in moderation, it had tremendous effects.

Everything I've been learning in my pharmacology class this year has taught that cannabis has remarkably few drug interactions. I think that's a wonderful thing. All the more reason it needs to be studied and researched more deeply--because it means it has great potential to work successfully alongside tons of the meds people take routinely.

I doubt you will lose interest in weed by taking zoloft or that you will notice any interaction. Losing interest is sex is much more likely.
Most of the SSRI's will make you feel weird for a little while, it usually passes once your body adjusts to the medication. If it doesn't pass or symptoms get too uncomfortable, of course, see the prescribing doctor.
I hope it helps ease your symptoms :hippy:
